About James Voss

Video production, editing, technical operations and interactive media experience.

Profile

I’m James Voss, a filmmaker, video editor and production technician. I graduated from Monmouth University in 2026 with a B.A. in Communication, concentrating in Media Studies & Production. My work brings together documentary filmmaking, live sports video, aerial production, audio and interactive media.

I enjoy being involved in both the creative decisions and the practical work that brings a project together. Directing my documentary about the Bruce Springsteen Center at Monmouth gave me the opportunity to build a story around interviews, archival material and the university community. My commercial and voiceover projects let me work on a smaller scale, paying close attention to pacing, performance and sound.

Sports have been another important part of my production experience. Through Monmouth Football video operations and my work as a CAA in-game video technician, I’ve worked with the demands of capturing and supporting video around collegiate athletics. I’m also an FAA Part 107 certified remote pilot, and drone footage is a key part of my football work.

Outside video production, I build Unity projects and work on computers, equipment and mechanical systems. At my family’s marina, I’ve been involved in hands-on maintenance and operations across dock, facility and vessel projects. I like learning how a system works, tracking down a problem and finding a practical way to solve it.

I’m interested in opportunities where I can contribute to production, keep developing my creative skills and put that technical curiosity to work. This portfolio brings together the projects that best show how I approach filming, editing, sound and development.
